i think it is a dumb question. i had an LS...didnt have to ask the question of whether to go LSVTEC, it was where to find the parts... my turbo LS made nice torque but had NO top end, didnt really like the whole setup. ------ LSVTEC is awsome! got torque and all kinds of top end, nothing like 8200rpms and 12psi :-* so i vote LSVTEC...

Not risking blowing the motor like most lsVtecs do.

If you plan on rebuilding the whole thing, there isn't much you can "blow up". Ls/vtecs that aren't built blow up. If you build it, most of the time the only things you could hurt would be a head gasket or bearings. I couldn't see much else going wrong if you build it with good parts, so everyone else's ls/vtec blowing up won't be an issue.
