another dohc question
ok i know that i should have posted this in my other thread but no one has posted in it and i dont think anyones gonna look......so anyway this is my build and i want to know what you guys think i should do or shouldnt do.....im getting the dohc zc this saturday and i have a z6 with spun bearings
from the z6 onto the zc i would like to put the: intake manifold dc header transmission throttle body of course of course since the tranny is staying so would the shift linkage and what not what i was wondering was since the zc is technically a "d series" could i put my z6 head on the zc dohc block? or would i have stroke problems? i figured i would ask since most of the other bolt patterns are the same maybe the head bolts would be in the same place.... also would anyone be able to make me a custom valve cover for the dohc zc just plain metal looking i know some of you guys can weld pretty good..... |
Re: another dohc question
No can do the intake. Doesn't fit.
No can do the Head, unless you have alot of money of a machine shop with alot of time. Header will tale a smidge of porting, Throttle Body, Ah Whatever, ZC is the same size Tranny, Yup. Why a Custom valve cover? |
Re: another dohc question
i heard the intake mani fits perfect...but i trust you.heh not enough to not check 1st but i trust you
ok well the header is already on the zc and from what i know is actually for the zc oh so the whole valve cover thing....i just think it would be neat to have a plain one.....i dont like what the zc one looks like......i guess i could just paint the stock one....i dont know it was just a thought.. |
Re: another dohc question
Take my word on the intake. If you don't believe me I will take pics of the SOHC Aftermarket intake I am modding to fit my DOHC ZC and will will see all of the material I add to the flange, The coolant passage the ahd to be moved and the 8 out of 10 stud holes that had to be filled and re-drilled.

Re: another dohc question

|
Re: another dohc question
ok i trust you then...didnt know you were doing the same thing...my bad ill take your word next time...
should i use the ecu from the zc or should i use my p28?....or should i say "can i use my p28" |
Re: another dohc question
Now have you seen this ZC or did someone tell you youre getting a ZC? you know there is such thing as a SOHC ZC too ;)
Just curious from the way you said you will be getting a ZC, it sounded like you never saw it yet. Also, you can use any ECU as long as the OBD is the same, meaning if the ZC was in a 91 CRX and the other engine is from a 92 civic and you have the ECU's from both, you can only use the ECU from the OBD of your wiring harness youre using. Oh and yeah never doubt JK motorsports, he's a man of extreme genius and a honda god :P Ok maybe not that great, lets just say he knows his ----. |
Re: another dohc question
I will be using a P28. Just have to disable the Vtec, and run the right maps of course.
