are all d series oil pans interchangable
just like the qustion says will a d15b7 pan fit a y8?

Re: are all d series oil pans interchangable
i'm going to have to say no with y8 pickup.
|
Re: are all d series oil pans interchangable
NOPE. Y8 is AL and won't fit because of the change of the bolt locations. Not to mention the oil pickup.

Re: are all d series oil pans interchangable
There's a pan depth variance 88-95 depending on whether or not the engine has a fat main girdle. I believe the ZC pan doesn't fit the Z6 or A6, but some(?) of the D15's do.
As for 96+... I dunno, brotha. |

Re: are all d series oil pans interchangable
when interchanging the 88-95 oil pans, make sure to use the correct pickup.......
Hate to see a motor starve becauae the pickup was against the bottom of the pan. |
Re: are all d series oil pans interchangable
Hrm.
Without changing pickup, the ZC pan was too shallow on Z6 and hit the pickup. Another Z6 pan fit. Not my cars, so I guess I should stfu. The only two D-series I've ever owned... one has the OEM oil pan, the other is sitting wrapped in plastic waiting for me to lay it in the car. Not exactly a master :l |
Re: are all d series oil pans interchangable
if that is the case then what about the oil pump for y8 and z6 same or different????
|
Re: are all d series oil pans interchangable
different
|
Re: are all d series oil pans interchangable
Never use a obd2 d-series oil pump for longer than 15k miles, they are bullshit.

Re: are all d series oil pans interchangable
I put a b2 oil pan on my z6 the other day. do I need to use the b2 pickup or will the z6 pickup work?
