Aftermarket front shocks blew???
Not too sure what happened. Installed new spring/shock/camber kit today in the front. When i was done i lowered the front to begin working on the rear and once i had the rear jacked up on both sides the front shocks sounded as if they blew. Now the metal rods in the center of the shock stick too far out on the wheel-well in the engine bay. Is it possible i put too much pressure on the front shocks when i jacked the rear up The install went fine. Any help guys would be appreciated.

i dont think you "blew" your shocks. i know for a fact that on the tokico illuminas that the "rod" sticks out pretty far. i would try taking one off and manuly compressing it. if you hear a gurgling sound(youll know what i mean) then their blown

Re:Aftermarket front shocks blew???
I didnt use a flared o-ring.Got a picture of it?? I compressed the new assembly and tightened down the top mount. From all the research ive done ive never seen anyone use the flared o-ring. I just re-used the top mount and rubber gaskets that were already inside of it. I didnt just assume they blew....it sounded like my turboxs blow off valve PPPPSSHH! ha Well the next chance i get im taking it apart and checking everything. I imagine if they are shot then the metal rods should slide up and down fairly easily. sean
