Accord Wont Start?
Yestarday I undercoated my 91 Accord EX-R Auto, and put a new thermostat into it. The Thermostat housing broke, so that put me back until I fixed it(JB Weld!!!). After Filling the coolant back up, I go to start the car, and it cranks but no spark? I checked the wiring and none are broken, Reset the ECU, Replaced the ignitor with a know good one, cleaned the magnetic pickup and still nothing.
Any Ideas? Bad Coil? Bad Magnetic Pickup? Bad Dizzy? Bad ECU. Any had anything like this. Help, I need my car!!!!! |
Re: Accord Wont Start?
Bad main relay? Go through and check your fuses too. I used to have a 90 accord, and once and a while in the cold the relay would act up and wouldn't start. Could also be the sensors in the dizzy too. That happened to mine as well. If you have a service manual it gives you steps on how to check your coil, ignitor, and sensors that are in there to determine if they're good or not.

Re: Accord Wont Start?
Ya I'm downloading the Helm Manual as I write this. Main Relay? That would cause no fuel, not no spark right?

Re: Accord Wont Start?
Does the Accord have the grounds mounted on the thermostat housing also? Is the JB Weld somehow isolating these grounds from the block? Just a thought.

Re: Accord Wont Start?
Ya, Someone else had this thought. I'm going to give adding an extra ground to this point just to be sure, That is if I can't come up with a new thermo housing today.

Re: Accord Wont Start?
Well That exactly what it was. All that trouble for 1 wire, AND the Thermo housing still leaks. Getting a new one tomorrow.
