AC is not working on settings 1 and 2 on my 91 Integra..HELP!!!!
 

Ok, I need some help. Obviously. My AC works, but only on settings 3,4 and 5. What's causing the AC not to work on settings 1 and 2? I've tried another AC switch and it's the same. If anyone has run into this issue before, please help.

I've had many cars wih that problem. I never cared, but I think it was the speed switch.

I replaced a few on the old civics.

Theyre normally located behind the glovebox in the blower/air ducting with 3/4 wires going to it. you mite be able to see it from the footwell.

Its an easy job...or was in the day.

What happens is the resistors are like coils made of metal and these usually become brittle or something and simply snap. I've resoldered a few in the past.
But the reason the high speed setting works is because it doesnt use a resistor its a direct connection that doesnt need the resistor to drop the voltage to the fan....therefore there was no resistor to break.
The resistors get hot like hairdryer elements, thats why they dont last forever.

I go thru a lot of them because i always have no1 fan setting on because i cant stand stuffy air in cars..plus this way my cars never steam up the windows.

so all your looking for is 3/4 wires that are around the blower unit. normally held to it by a single self tapper.

Yea i know what you mean, my A/c doesnt work either in my teg, thats because i ripped that gay ---- out :6
