a6 block

i was wondering if the z6 pistons and rods will work in the a6 block? will i need to modify anything? what rod bearings will i have to use? i did the compression calculator and it said using all a6 parst except the pistons and rods will but me at 8:1:1. i am running a t3 turbo and plan on running 12psi. i want it to look as a6 as possible. :-\

Re: a6 block

stock compression is good ... no need to lower the compression.
But to answer your question.... yes Z6 rod's and pistons will work in a A6 bllock...just get the color code of the bearings, if you want to do it right plastigauge with the old bearings and calculate the clearance and get the bearings you need.

All D16 rods are the same. No arguments about 86-87 D16A1 rods and their cosmetic insignificance.

Compression irrelevant until at/near/past D-series knock limit on pump gas ~ 350 whp. Other parts of the engine let go before you hit this point.

As A6 as possible? As long as you have the A6 head, you're far far better than the V-tech boys.

Re: a6 block

either bearings are fine, just make sure you check clearances
