Re: A20A3 question

Check out 3geez.com, they have a lot of advice for that motor since the a20s also came in the 86-89 accords. Read up on them, and yes, boost it.

Good luck.

A20A3 is an iron block, so it laughs at boost. However, I assume the weak point, as with most stock honda motors, will be the rods. Luckily, B18 rods are the same length and width as stock, and the big ends bolt directly to the crank. And with the use of +.080 B18 pistons (83mm), you can use 21mm wrist pins (19mm is stock A20A3 size pins). Get some blank forged low-compression pistons and have a machine shop machine the valve reliefs into them.

For cams, it's best to stay stock. It's really hard to beat the stock cam for boost. For NA, Colt makes a popular regrind they call "tri-flow", which just steps the opening of the intake valves instead of opening them up at the same time. Anyone that does cam regrinds can regrind your stock cam, though.
