Default 96 dx hatchback

i have a 1996 dx hatchback and it runs pretty well for being a dx, but after i just got my ---- handed to me by a damn crapalier z24 i would really like to do a mini me conversion? i was wondering what i need to do to do this and a rough estimate of what it will cost? so that the next time i see this gay neon green z24 he can look at the back of my civic and be like wow.

Welcome to the forum.

A simple googlesearch would have found you something like this:

http://www.civicland.com/diy/5thgen/...enminime.shtml

Almost every part you need can be purcahsed thru the classifieds section on this website.

If he dusted you without vtec hell dust you with it you should really look into a turbo. This forum actually specializes in homemadeturbo kits for cheap if you hadnt noticed :P

z24 is 150hp/150tq, dont expect a mini-me to help much. get a b-series or turbo that dx motor.

Still better than what he's got.

Boost the mini-me setup. That's what I think you should do.

if you want to do a mini me here is what you will need for your 6g civic:

Y8 head (96-00 ex civic) $150-$200
Y8 intake manifold (it might come with the head)$50-$100
Y8 ecu (96-98 ex civic obd2)$50-$100
Get a manual for the 96-98 civic ex $5-$15
wires for vtec pressure and actuator $5-$15
Y8 exhaust manifold or aftermarket header $50-$250
Y8 oem intake tube or aftermarket SRI or CAI $25-$250

So you can do it any where from $335-$1000 depending on what parts you want to get. Good luck. 98ctr

PS: you can do it with Z6 head also, but you will have to get an obd1 distribuitor and rewire it to the obd2 harness.

i just beat a z24 with my dx hatchback by about a car length damn quick cavalier though. Oh yeha dont expect to beat him with a mini me either unless u run a real high compression, my friend lost to the same kid by a little over a car length with his 5th gen dx hatch with z6 swap
