Default 96 civic intake manifold difference?

I was looking at 96 civic today and I notice that it doesn't have that "log type" throttle body. I see it's just the throttle body that goes straight down. Is this for better air circulation as there will be equal amount of air for each cylinder? Just curious. and whats the disadvantage and advantage of both? With that straight up throttle body like that I think I can slap a-la WRX intercooler setup like that. HAHAH... :P

you have a cx/dx/hx/lx right? the "log" style mani is the EX mani, it flows far better then the one you have. I sounded like a dick right there, but i didn't know how else to say it. think about air at velocity going into your mani and into the ex, on yours it's running straight into a wall, on the ex it has a chamber there to prevent that sudden angle (sharp angles are the death of good flow)

WOW, I see the difference now. Those are much longer runners then the "log style". With the air filter/box you couldn't really see those runners look like. Yeah, I think I look for a EX model instead. Thanks guys.
