Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
i think noel also has a problem like this with his b16
|
Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
so what can be the problem.
|
Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
Hey how about you just wait for noel's lazy ass to get up and move this thread and hold your breath for more than a half hour.

Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
make sure there are no code before anything
|
Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
stock=4200 rpm
vtec=9200 rpm B series=D series Don't let nobody tell you elsewise |
Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
Have your ecu chipped and remove the rev limiter. Its a classic ricer move :X
|
Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
yeah that is agood sig line. I needed a new one.
What kinda ricer are you though? pushing it to redline with bone stock vehicle. Who cares how high you can rev. Address the problem when you turbo it or do something that would merit going to 7500 |
Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
Usually it's limited to around 6500 when the vehicle is (A) Not fully warmed up yet, or (B) Is throwing a CEL. Even if the car is warmed up, and there are no codes showing, there is a good posibility that something mechanical could be wrong with the car, such as maybe your timing belt jumped a tooth, but i'm pretty sure you'd notice that right away. But if it is a bone stock Z6 motor, it's pretty much pointless to rev it that high anyway. The efficiency of the motor (i.e. powerband) will drop drasticly above the 6500 mark, so trying to get it to 7500 in stock form is like doing speed on a bmx to try and keep up to the guys on the ninja's. ::)

Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
sorry, but revlimter is 7200 rpm when warm.......... I don't give a flying ---- if you factory tach reads 300-400 rpm high!
You need 125 F water temp for VTEC to be allowed to engage. Next. |
Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
7200? Hmm...that makes me wonder...my friend's setup runs a d15b2 with a z6 head and zc slugs on the stock d15 rods...runs a stock p28 ecu and pulls it to 7800 according to his vdo tach ???
|
Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
why you running a low comp D15?

Next :) in Canada the civic w/ a z6 is called an Si :) (yes, 92-95) but then again, you said MADE in canada, as alot of us/cdn civics are. If the speedo is in KM/h then it's a Canadian domestic market car, which the above is correct. if its in MP/h then is a USDM car and there's something else wrong. You SURE you've got a z6 and p28 in there? |
Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
yup i sure do have a d16z6 with a p28 ecu..
|
Re: 94 ex redline at 6,500
connect a outside tach to it and im betting its your tach its off, same thing happened to me
