93 Prelude leaking oil above O2 sensor/cadilac converter
my car is leaking oil right on the cadilac converter, right next to the o2 sensor. i jacked up the car, looked around the back of the engine but couldn't find where the leak was coming from. It only leaks when it runs and a drop falls every 2-3 secs. any ideas from where its coming from? the Idel is also pulsating every 2-4 sec. its kind of stumbles. would low oil pressure cause that? there was oil on the bottom of the oil filter but not on the top. i felt the oil filter but i couldn't feal any holes/tares in the filter. where could the oil be coming from?

sounds like its your muffler bearing. :-\ That's a pretty expensive part. Call autozone and see if they carry it.

Re: 93 Prelude leaking oil above O2 sensor/cadilac converter
maybe your canooter valve is bad. it's on the bottom of your intake, and goes to the black breather box on the back of your block. when they go, the seals blow out and oil drips out of em. happens to the best of us

Re: 93 Prelude leaking oil above O2 sensor/cadilac converter
if you can't crawl under a car and find a ------- leak that drips every 2-3 seconds you need to take a second look under there and kick the jack out.
Or at least get off this site as it's not for you |

Re: 93 Prelude leaking oil above O2 sensor/cadilac converter
i dont know whats worse. improperly installing an oil filter, or figuring out how to put the car on ramps blocks or jackstands and look for the leak
|
Re: 93 Prelude leaking oil above O2 sensor/cadilac converter
if u have an H series check ur oil cooler o-ring. $3 part from honda and it makes it look like ur oil filter is leaking when its actually coming from closer to the block.
If u do have an f22, then u need to upgrade ur oil changing skills. |
Re: 93 Prelude leaking oil above O2 sensor/cadilac converter
i was at work dip ---- thats why i asked the question, i didn't have access to my jack or stands. i was looking for a little help brain storming. i changed the oil 5 months ago. it was properly installed. i changed th filter and oil this morning. there was a pin hole leak and slight dent on the filter.on the side that was facing towards the ground.

thats HMT man. Its just how it goes. But there are alot of useful ppl on this site...
It gets interesting at times....and its just moreso expected to cover the basis before hoping some of these guys spoon feed info. I had this problem for 6 oil changes before i stopped being lazy. Its more of a pain in the ass to put the o-ring in, because it doesn't wanna stay on its own. a few drops of gasket maker or rtv just to hold the o-ring on there. U'll usually only see it leak when the engine is warm (rubber expands to open the leak) |
