Default 92 ls into 89 hf ***NEW PICS***

ok so there are a few vacuum peices im not sure if i need or not.

got rid of the charcoal canister so i just let the one tube that comes out of the firewall vent to the atmosphere correct?

also this:

i took the map sensor out of there and ran 1 line to the smaller nipple on the throttle body

what is the other sensor in this cluster ---- and do i need it? there is a plug for it.

also what the hell is this:

im talking about the thing all the way on the right, next to the valve cover, says japan on the top of it. has the 3 wires coming out. it plugged into my harness and there is a little nipple on the top of it, do i just run a vacuum source to it? hmmm

thats an EGR valve, see in the first pic that solenoid with the green on it, vacuum from manifold to that, then to the EGR valve. thats it.

what ecu are you using to run that. i would assume pm6. if so then dont worry about the egr system. just leave the valve on the intake manifold or make a block off plate

If you get CEL 14, idle that fluctuates as you push in/out the clutch, etc, ignore these fools and contact me and only me. I am a master of the 88-89 HF peccadillos.

i think its a manual. there is no place for a kickdown cable

Only EGR equipped LS are automatic transmission B18A1's.

Trust me, guys... if it's old, beat down, and has seen better days I know all about it.

not doubting that you know your ----, i figured there was something else in the pic that said automatic. what did they do for downshifting the autos back then?

Solenoid controlled via TCU. MAP and RPM feed where shared between ECU and TCU, IIRC. Pretty caveman setup, actually.

I swapped out the clock crystal in a TCU once for a guy with one hand, so he could have higher shift points, since he couldn't do the 5 spd thing.
