91 civic cx/ d16z6 swap

whats up everyone just joined the site, i like it alot there is tone of useful info.
anyway i just bought a 91 cx hatch and it has a complete d16z6 swap, but the car is still obd 0.
vtec is wired up to a msd rpm actived switch but i noticed that the vtec oil pressure switch is not connected (there is no plug that i can see)
and vtec only comes on sometimes. i am running a jdm pr5 ecu because the pm6 was bogging.
so i was just wondering what i should do about that switch, if i should go the the junk yard and get the other sid of the plug ? but where would i wire it ??? thanx

There was no cx in '91

So your VTEC solenoid isn't wired up, but you're still getting VTEC occasionally? I'm not sure that's possible. Are you trusting your butt dyno?

the switch will only need the vtec solenoid not that oil pressure switch to activate vtec.

The only real way I've heard of fixing it is to buy an OBD-1 conversion and a P28 or converted P06 ECU. Thats just what I've heard though, I don't mess with the single cams. :P

no you can run th rpm switch fine this was the way of the hybrid days before the obd1 conversion harness was avalable and not 350.00 yes at one time thats what they cost.

If it is wired up with a relay it will work fine.

I have run proably 10+ sohc vtec motors in crx's/civic's this way for the budget crowd and they run fine. Even my old 13.20 sohc vtec motor ran on a rpm switch.

Its not the best way but it works if you only have 60 bucks for some vtechh action

actually there are 91 cx's because ive had 3 of them.
and the solinoid is hooked up but the oil pressure switch is not.
could the oil pressure swich be hooked up in the rpm switch??? because i noticed a relay beside it ???
