91 A6 into 88 HF (help me Dustin or Jeff!!)
ok heres the dillema. the HF is out, the A6 is in. bolted in, no probs, wiring is perfect, everything looks good. the proble is this, i killed the TPS and the (i think its called the) idle air control sensor on the HF motor has a square plug and the one on the SI motor is round. can i just swap the plugs? will it work? (on the IAC) or does that sensor not matter? cause i know i need the TPS (which i just got (used oem throttle body) but i havent installed it yet. my real question is, what would make the car have a 2500 rpm rev limit? the thing wont rev past 2500 rpm (and yes its EXACTLY 2500).please tell if if anyone has experienced these problems, or what i can do about them. thanks alot.

Is that 2500 RPM in neutral or going down the road? Some cars won't rev past 2500 in neutral. More info on your car would help, is it auto or stick, what year, OBD1 or 2? If I am reading your post right you dont have a TPS yet? That could cause your problem. The computer doesn't know how far the throtle is open so it doesn't know how much fuel to add.

Your TPS is busted you said, is it still connected? It might be sending the wrong voltage to the ecu. Maybe when you go WOT its only sending enough voltage to mimic 40% throttle.

it was the TPS. i got it fixed. but the car is totalled. i spun it (my idiot friend left a bolt out of the suspension) 3 times and hit 3 trees. its done, totally. ill have pics soon.

yeah it did, i have pics of everything (my girlfriend was behind me and had a camera) everything is fucked. the only thing not bent or broken on the car is the swap (thank god) and both doors. both of my arms are all fucked up and ive got a bruise on my knee, but i walked away from it. ill have pics very very soon, i have to get em developed and scanned. im just sooooo bummed right now. i was gonna keep the rex as my project and sell my integra but it looks like the teg goes on the road tomorrow.
