89 Teg Slugs on D16Z6? is it possible?
Ok im not to savy on what works with what (internally)... But my cousin brought it to my attention that 89 integra pistons could be used on a D16Z6 engine and it would raise the compression? I wanted to know if this was true?
Anyone ever do this or heard of this beeing done?
I mean i know theres more work other than just swaping pistons to raise your compression, this is of coarse for N/A application.

looking at 12/1++ compression... I'd say A6 ( 88-91 ) pistons with the D16Z6 motor if its a "street" car.. The A6 pistons will give you the same compression as a "mini-me" set-up..
I have Z6 pistons and an A6 head = low compression.
Z6 = dished piston
A6 = flat
ZC/Teg = domed
the head's cc volume is also a factor the Z6 head has small cc volume while the A6 head has a larger volume.
Z6 piston ( dished ) + A6 head ( high cc ) = low comp.
A6 pistons ( flat ) + A6 head ( high cc ) = normal comp.
ZC/teg pistons ( domed ) + A6 head ( high cc ) = little higher than normal comp.
Z6 pistons ( dished ) + Z6 head ( small cc ) = normal comp.
A6 pistons ( flat ) + Z6 head ( small cc ) = High compression.
ZC/teg pistons ( domed ) = Z6 head ( small cc ) = basiclly race compression ( if the pistons will even clear the valves !! ).
DAILY HIGH POWER Turbo = Z6 pistons + A6 head
Lower/modirate power turbo = A6 pistons + A6 head
Lowe/modirate power turbo = Z6 pistons + Z6 head
Fast street N/A D16 = A6 pistons + Z6 head
Race only N/A D16 = ZC/teg pistons + Z6 head ( if possible )
the bolck is not a factor in compression, but I hear the A6 is stronger...
If your not getting the parts to do ANY of these hybrid set-ups really cheap, just upgrade instead of using "used" factory parts..
the builder and tuning is going to be a biug factor in how long it lasts... My engine builder lived in Japan, and worked for honda between 92-95 ( get it ? ), and I think he's the best there is...
