Re: 89 civic dx with 95 si harness
so would it have to have THE 95 dash in it to work can the 95 dash even fit wtf theres a sohc vtec in it. is there away to convert to obd1 without the harness adapter ie cut splice ---- together

Re: 89 civic dx with 95 si harness
Yes you can cut and splice to match up the wires. It is alot of work and most people just spend the $90 for a coversion harness and do the MPFI swap which takes a afternoon to do a nice job off.If everything works on the car then who cares how the did it.

Re: 89 civic dx with 95 si harness
true but i just wanted to know cause i dont want a hack job thats half finished and is it easier to run a turbo b16 in obd1 or should iv try to get the car to obd0 again for the turbo

Re: 89 civic dx with 95 si harness
You want OBD1 as you can then use Crome.
edit- Looking at that car i would avoid it.Buying someone else's project can save money but most of the time it just leads to hassle.Find a clean 88-91 Base model hatch to start with and just do the MPFI swap yourself and buy a OBD1 converion harness or you can use BRE to run the B16.That thing looks gettho and is most likely poorly put together. |
