Just buy I aftermarket crossmember if you can afford it.I have a D16 in my EF and it just ***** you over everytime you go to do something.Looking back I should have bought one before starting the turbo project or anything else.It is probably my only complaint about a EF , well that and the fact there is no trap door for the fuel pump.

You need to clock your center section of your turbocharger so it aims toward the pan slightly, not directly at the bottom of the crossmember. Tons of members (including myself) have made sucsessful oil returns in EF's with stock cross members.

Crossmemebr is an option ifyou plan on running a 3" DP and still have sufficient space. I have PLENTY of room with the ones I make. As fot the oil retur. Should have any probs there if you turbo is clocked properly
