Default 88 Conquest help

so I bought an 88 conquest a bit ago. It needs some work. I was hoping that a few intelligent and helpful people here could help me figure out whats going on with it.
Here are the symptomes:

When jumped or the battery is charged it will start right up. For the first min or two everything seems fine. Then after not too long the voltage meter drops to 0 and the car begins to misfire. After a min or so of that, it just dies. A fully charged battery lasts longer but doesn't get charged at all. I bought it from a guy for $600 as is. Body isn't in the best of shape, but I'll live. The guy I bought it from said the alternator has been tested and it tested good.

I remember reading somewhere that these cars are notorious for a charging issue involving some fuses or a fuseable link or something. I've been looking through my IE history for about 30 min trying to find the website and I've had no luck. Any help would greatly be appreciated. The car has a brand new battery in it.

Thanks
