88-91 B16A, what did it come from?

Hey,

I purchased a 88-91 B16A (SiR I) swap from Hmotorsonline, and was wondering what parts to order: Such as, water pump, timing belt etc... I was thinking this engine came from a '91 Acura Integra, but im not 100%. Any info would be MUCH appreciated, thanks

eah?

94-97 del Sol VTEC = B16a2/3
99-00 civic SI = B16a2

88-91 B16a = Integra XSI or CRX SiR
Depending on the tranny will depend on what the motor came from if the motor is orignal. the XSI has slightly better gearing than the crx. I belive the J1 and S1 were XSI trannys and the other was the CRX one.

Y1 is from crx/civic si, I have it and I enjoy cruizing the highway at 85 spinning 5k rpm in 5th. I also enjoyed having to buy custom axles because the intermediate shaft is a different length. the del sol and civic si with the b16 will be good for some parts, but for other parts you will need to get 90-93 integra ----. the distributor cap is one of the things you need to go integra with, and if your distributor breaks too bad for you, that's a pricey piece. it's 280 with core exchange to get your ---- rebuilt by tuner toys, I'm running a brand new tuner toys dizzy.

I think the purpose of his question was to find out where to get NEW parts for his b16a1 motor since there was no such thing in North America.

99-00 Si(Canada SiR)
94-97 Del Sol VTEC.

jeff is correct.

here in Germany the 88-91 b16a1 came in both the CRX Vtec and Civic Vtec. both said Vtec on the middle tail light and said CTec on the seats. im currently trying to find a civic vtec they go for around 3000 euro or $3500. the whole car that is 8)
