79mm d series??
 
Is it possible to even safely have a stock sleeved d series at 79mm?? I came up on a built d awhile ago and it had je pistons i went to measure the bore and its clearly bored out to 79mm?? I was like wtf?? I didnt think that was even possible 4mm overbore?? And it was boosted!

There would be no sleeve to even speak of :S.

thats what i was thinking lol.. but he told me along time ago it was sleeved but the cylinder walls look damn stock and damn thin lol. I will get some pics for everyone

Honda sleeves can only go 1 mm over before they break. My buddy did a 77mm all motor d on stock sleeves. Made one pass and broke 2 sleeves.



You need to get a block sleeved and even then there isnt enough sealing area for a boosted motor. The biggest bore d I ever saw work was a friends old 78mm sleeved d block that was my old block. It was a 13.1 compression d all motor that well was kinda cool for an all motor d but was really imo a waste of time and money.

79mm sleeved is walking on thin ice, not if but when will a aftermarket sleeve split.
