5th gear pops out, help.
I just swapped out my tranny yesterday old was a Y7 new was a Y8. Now when I deaccelerate in 5th gear it will randomly pop out of gear. My motor mounts are really ---- so I don't know if the slack in the mounts would cause this. I am using Honda MTF since I though the motor oil was causing it to pop out of gear. Its not low on fluid. Shift linkage is not bent. Clutch engagement is alittle on the soft side need to fiugure out how to adjust hydro clutch, don't know if light clutch would cause 5th gear to pop out also the tab on the old throwout bearing was broken so I don't know if that would have cause a firmer clutch feel.
Possible reasons I have seen are low fluid, bad syncro, bad 5th gear, bent shift fork.

Check your fluid first. I know on the 3rd gen accords if you ever let the fluid get low at all, 5th gear would go and pop out all the time. It does make sense that it might possibly pop out if the shifter bushings and motor bushings are so bad that you can't keep the shifter engaged under deceleration. I know when I let off the gas and am in gear the shifter moves alot on my car.
