Not sure I want to mess with the tint. I'll experiment with the current dimmer switch if not I'll get some POT and go to work.

Ninja Edit: This dimmer only controls the gauges. It does not turn on the dome light. look at that switch and it will have 2 wires. one will go straight to your fuse box. tap into the other wire to the hot wire of your gage backlight, run the other wire of your gage backlight to chassis ground. |

i got the NV series and they are bright as ---- too, except green. They are lit by LEDs which can run off really low voltage so when i wired in a pot it wouldnt dim them at all, so i just stuck some window clingon tint and it worked fine.
