Re:2.2L?

I have never personally done the swap, but have read alot on it, their is great info on this at www.honda-tech.com
I think if I owned a 5g civic that would be the engine I would definatly have, Nothing like a Honda Big block ;)

You do have to make some small cuts on the firewall for the shiftlinkage to work correctly. That is the most major part about the swap I beleive.

thanks for the info if you can find anyone with pics of there h22 swaps id like to see them. and i can get the full swap for like 2200$ it seemed like a good buy right or wrong?? becasue it sure beats the price i paid for my gs-r

Re:2.2L?

Exactly, the price alone makes it all worthwhile, yes you will need other minor things, but the H22's are going for pretty decent prices.

Seriously hit up www.honda-tech.com and do a search, I know you will find a few installs on H22's in 5g's.

Good luck man

Re:2.2L?

The only thing that seems to be a drawback to the H22 is that fact that it is so much heavier than the B-series motors. In fact, I've seen a few people that have gotten the same ET with the B18 and The H22 in the same car. Despite the difference in HP. It's that much heavier. Also, it tends to make the steering harder to work. But hey, if all you want to do do is go really f-ing fast in a straight line. The motor has alot more potential if you build it.

Re:2.2L?

yah ive heard you can make them fast but some of my peeps that i build cars w/ say its not worth it unless you stroke it because of the weight they said the h22 stock compared to a gs-r stock will put down the same eta? is this true i just wanted a second opinion.

Hasport has a mounting kit that requires no cutting of any kind. Chek out www.hasport.com. I have a friend with this swap and i have driven it. Great straight line car but major understeer compared to my D16. W/Turbo these make awesome strip cars.

Re:2.2L?

Im doing the swap now on a 93 si and the guy started it has lost the harness for the h22 and the ecu. I havent found eather as of yet and completing it is tacking forever (4 months), Hasport has the harness and says i need the h22 one for them to convert it . other than that it has been an easy swap .
