Default 100 psi + oil pressure.........

just put in my oil pressure gauge, it's reading 100+ psi.
WTF? It bounces around between 75-100 psi then sits past the 100 mark. AT IDLE. Cold and warmed up.

Little help.

get a needle valve (i think that's what it's called) you can use it to lower the oil pressure

mine does the same damn thing. except, when idle and warmed up it's steady @ 20psi or so. as soon as i step on the gas it goes up a lil then shoots to 100psi. I use castrol syntec 10w30. I find that it works 100% perfect right after the oil change. then, on the drive home it slowly goes back to the bouncy stage. 1 week later its back how it was.

engine is d16a6

What motor/car is this?

When i built my 4g64 for my Talon I didnt put squirters back on it and blocked off my balance shaft oil passages. I get 80+ PSI when the ------- thing is idling HOT... 100+ (off the scale) when its cold... lol. I have ported my oil pump housing big time and still no better really.

Something I've come to live with, but I know one day it'll bite me in the ***. Luckily not making my t3/04e smoke that I can see yet.

how bout some details on the mounting.. is it against the firewall, or hanging from the block via t-fittings. or tip tied to the IM (lol, like mine)

is the sender hooked up right?. When i first installed mine it bounced and the needle would be buried past 100. I found out that if you ground the sender it gets accurate reading and no interferance from other things. I just sanded some of the coating off the sender so it is bare metal and solder a wire to the sender canister and give it a good ground. I found out how to do this on some dsm site. it worked for me.

yours was bouncing all over the place too? hrmm..

well.. frrom what i remember, my oil psi would be fine at idle. but when i rev or drive it would bounce around (possibly grounding to the IM). maybe I should try that....

check your block -> chassis grounding strap(s) as well.. those were causing hell with my temp sendor(s) on my Accord.
