'03 Tiburon Factory Alarm HELP!!

My GF has a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon, her alarm remote is starting to go to ----, and she doesn't want to be stranded when her alarm disables the ignition. I tried to find her owners manual but cant....I just need to know how to override the alarm.....Usually theres a killswitch, but apparently theres something she needs to remove in order to start the car....She called it a "Chip" i'm assuming she means a fuse or something, but I'm not familiar with her car so i'm not about to start ------- with ----. If anyone on the site is Familiar with these cars or knows what I'm talking about, please help. Thanks.

first thing you should do is get a new batterie for the remote and if that doesnt work get a new remote for it
after that then think about bypassing it or removing it all together

The battery is brand new, its the remote thats on the fritz, and we're not removing the factory anti-theft. I just need to find a way to override it in case the remote completely dies on her while shes out, because if she has to use the key to unlock the doors, as soon as she opens the door, her ignition disables, and the alarm starts to sound.

If any MOD reads this, please re-loacte this to the Tech section, or wherever it should go.

you might have to hold the key in the door for a few seconds after opening it.

doesn't that car have a manual with it? if so, read it.

I used to be an MECP head tech for the local Best Buy near me, and I've done a few Tibs. Factory alarms on those car are very touchy, and a rewire and removal should just be left to a dealer. The way they're integrated into the car just makes it a nightmare to work on. Take the advice...drive the 30 minutes to the dealer and let them handle it. Otherwise, make sure your g/f's quick on the key. Usually the alarm will reset itself if it disables the ignition. Turn the key on, then off and lock and unlock the doors and see if it'll start then. If not, wait a few minutes and it should have reset itself.
