ok i did a compression test on my girls car(yes, she back in the pic, ya thats right whos your daday :P)
anyhow cylinders 1,3,4 are 210psi and number 2 wont go higher than 190. the car is over heating on ling drives or in traffic. i changed the thermostat put new water and coolant and it still does the same thing. u guys think that much of a difference means its the head gasket? car doesnt smoke at all. she says she has to add water almost weekly. could it be the water pump? i havent noticed any leakage either around the waterpump weep hole either. help!

wellll if ur having to add water and u dont see any leaks.... :-\ does it look like the colant and oil are mixing? the colent might just be getting into the cylinder and getting burt. does it have a cat. on it?

haha, she needed some car work and some daddy dick, I give it no more than 3 weeks, or until her car works good again.

should run fine on that compression, turbo it!

Re:**READ ME!!!***compression test results... opinions needed

i c nothing wrong with that compression.
mine ---- use to read 190, 90 180 100 or some ---- like that, never overheated even i kept on raping it.
did you replace the radiator cap? same ---- happened to my bro`s car, after all i found out the radiator cap is not holding pressure.
bleeded the coolent? try jack up the front of the car a little, turn on the car, turn the heat on, fill the radiator with coolent until it start to boil then put the cap back..

my ex mang, weve been broken up for a few weeks. weve been talking for like the last week and and i gess im trapped again. i think shes pimping me for some engine work though, dam women!

she probably is pimping you for engine work.. damn bitches are only after me for my skillz!

anyways, does it have a cat, that will help you determine if you're leaking into the cylinder.

Typically you find weak compression on two side-by-side cylinders when the head gasket is fawked

Re:**READ ME!!!***compression test results... opinions needed

she does have a cat, and how the hell does that determine leakage, im talking about the rex BTW

ya and your right quadnie, the bitches dont love me, they just love me for my turbostyle

Re:**READ ME!!!***compression test results... opinions needed

if you are leaking antifreeze into the combustion chamber then typically you can smell it burning thru a free flowing exhaust system.. yet another reason I'm all against emissions.

Dump the cat (which u should have done long before now) and smell the exhaust.. with the cat in place you won't really notice a faint burning coolant smell.

u said the car dosent smoke at all and u dont see any leakage.but she says she has to add water almost weekly. either its leaking and ur not catching it or it might be getting burt.so if it has a cat on it the cat might be filtering out smoke u would see from it burning coolant. just a few thoughts could be dead wrong. :-\

lol took the words right out of my mouth. have u ever heard of coolent colecting in the cat if u have a good sized leak?

......i can see this is going to be a long topic.
but still only a 20psi diff. ??? i thought 10 was exceptable?
anyway run it till it breaks ;D :P

Yeah, if you had a cracked head then water likes to gush right out of the tailpipe.. with or without a cat.

check the rad for cold spots? maybe it's toast?

I agree w/ the headgasket would usually have two cyl side by side that are low.

thats tough mang. you should fixed the problem then put sugar in his gas. dam bitches.

im thinking it might be sometihng serioououius though because i let the car run today for abut 15minutes and there as small drips on the tip of the exhaust :-\ its just a tough call to say its condensation or a fucked gasket.

This may be stupid but does the fan turn on? Possibly it's just in need of a new fan switch?

Don't go ripping it apart until you know for sure that it's a HG.
