**ALL GOOD HERE!!!!** edit on first post.

hmm weird? car is running great, no overheating or anything, strong heat, little smoke here and there, pulls strong as hell. definitely a different feel powerband wise... but one thing bugs me.........

my freaking temp guage is like freaking out. when it idles it goes to normal. when i start driving it starts going up till it gets to hot. weird. does anyone know of a direct fit replacement that is not a oem honda. but rather an true aftermarket guage? lmk nogs, and thanks for the help.

no real gains. The head on your motor does the job. Vtec head just allows for use of large cams with stock idle

true. i just need to know what issues i would run into swapping this head on. because if at most, ill just be reusing the b2 head again after i clean it all up.

Re: b2 block/ y7 head combo...

Well you can use the a6 dist on the y7 head. All the bolts may not line up I did that swap I have no idea maybe 5 years ago and stayed obdo but cant remember if everything lined up

Its not big deal when stayin obdo with a sohc vtec head the a6 dist only has one bolt line up. Notch the hole you have full inition timing nothing crazy or new.

ok thats understandable. now would i have to use a y7 head gasket or would i have to use a d15 head gasket? i think i would have to use a y7 one correct.

ok guys my head is clogged with that alumni rad fix ---- and i have a clean as hell y7 that i will be putting on. now all i really need to know is what head bolts should i use. the b2 or the y7. my brain is telling me the y7 head bolts. i would greatly appreciate the help once more. oh and chris, two of the three line up perfect. the third on may need to be trimmed or i just wont use it. other than that the y7 head is ready to go. all i need to do is put my drain plug back in, pick up my y7 head gasket and install it once i find out which bolts i should use.

If I remember right you'll have to use the y7 belt also, not sure. I have the a6 head on my b2 and had to use the a6 belt.
don't worry about the other bolt i've been running w/o 1 for 4years

Y7/Y8 should work.

Your B7 belt will be too long.

Re: **UPDATE/NOV 9th** b2 block/ y7 head combo...

I always personally use a z1 belt on d16head/d15 block combo's.

But z6/y7/y7 will work. A lil bit looser.

Good luck.

Re: **UPDATE/NOV 9th** b2 block/ y7 head combo...

Just use the 2 bolts that more than enough. If you want that head to uber super duper clean a night in a storage bin with purple power will make it super duper clean.

Re: **UPDATE/NOV 9th** b2 block/ y7 head combo...

well the head is on but its a no go at the time. timing i believe is the issue. time to go to work. if anyone knows of any issues at all with timing being set on this combo that would be great. i really think though that its me rushing and not having the cam zero'd out. maybe i do need an adjustable cam gear? lmk nogs thanks.

The car will start and run fine without the gear.
Line up the marks, they will be slightly off. Have someone move the dizzy while your cranking.

It will start if nothing else is wrong.

Re: **UPDATE/NOV 9th** b2 block/ y7 head combo...

well turns out that the cam position is off between the b2 head and the y7 head, so i had to move some dizzy plugs around to accomidate the fire order change.....but so far all is good. though i cant drive it because i have no gasket for the valve cover.......and no auto store around me stocks it on a regular basis....fuckers :3

Same firing order.

Glad to see it worked out for you.

yes the fire order is the same the way i said it was wrong. what i meant is that the dizzy plug postion was off by one retation clockwise. when set to zero on the cam and tdc on number one, my firing order started at 3 not 1....so i rotated the dizzy plugs one rotation clockwise to fix that situation.
