your turbo gets dirty oil

I was loking at th eoiling system of the engine systems and realized that anyone running a oil sandwich adapter is feeding there turbos with dirty unfiltered oil.

taking it from th epress sensor is way better because the oil goes through th efilter befor your turbo

Re: your turbo gets dirty oil

u sure? most sanwitches go thru the filter first, then as it returns back to the engine, thru the sandwich it goes to ur feed. i could be wrong

The cheap ones tap off the pre filter oil. GE taps off the post filter oil.

Re: your turbo gets dirty oil

ehh, most people are going to run Fram or Napa filters anyways, so your motor is seeing half-ass filtered oil anyways...

Comparing Supertech to Fram side-by-side the Supertech filter looks tons better. On the Fram filters the seals are shitty things with squared edges, I can't see how they would be worth the extra cash.

The filter element can make a difference like a cheap paper vs. synthetic media, some can catch smaller metal particles but I personally dont think its that big of a deal. I use fram or purolator just because thats the closest thing to me when I change the oil.

most people dont know it but there are only three companys that make oil filter

TorganFM 04-14-2007 12:29 PM

Re: your turbo gets dirty oil

Is wix a good company? Seriously just from looking at a supertech and fram side-by-side the supertech looks so much more well-made.

WIX is all I use on my car. They don't spend much on marketing, but their filters are absolutely top notch.

Looking at a Fram box and a WIX box you would think that Fram is the better quality filter, but that's not the case.
