I've never heard/seen of an F series to trash rod bearings, especially around the mileage you mentioned. Not even turbo'd ones. The rings are usually the first thing to go.

ive never heard of any problems with the 4.3l vortec. lots and lots of old shitty blazers, s10, and jimmys that look like ---- with 250k miles on them but will still smoke more hondas

yea i am keeping this bitch. too much good expierience with them and not enough evidence there is anything majorly wrong. Every manufactured type of vehicle will have a few lemons. I mean come on, people do b series swaps all the time and they know its hit or miss with 3rd.
