your opinion: Most commonly over looked parts when....
Hey folks I'm starting to round ---- up for my HMT. I am looking forward to the day when I can start on all this. I plan to take a week off of work and just start wrenching away with a friend or two.
I wanted your input as to what were some of the things you overlooked when it came time to actually start installing your homemade kits? I think I've got it pretty well thought out but I bet I'm forgetting a lot of details, and I'm positive new steps will arise that I was not even aware of to begin with.
So I hope you can share some details of your installs, things you overlooked, problems that arised occurred, etc.
Finally a couple misc. questions: What's better - alunminum or steel charge pipes? - what kinda saw would I need to cut through charge piping when custom fitting everything!
Thanks in advance!

make sure you have all the bolts and nuts and crap like that, and make sure that you have some extra vacuum line just incase. make sure you have all the fittings for the turbo like for oil and water. I would think that steel pipes would be cheaper, but aluminum would be lighter, so whatever your needs are you can make a judgement.

Thanks..
also to the mods..sorry, I just realized I posted this in the wrong forum.
Anyways - I don't have the necessary means to cut steel pipes so I'm thinking of going with aluminum - I just don't know if they can withstand the heat.

steel is easier unless you can weld aluminum, just have a buddy there or an extra car so you can get all those little bitch things like bolts, nuts, zip ties, vac lines, etc.
even if you have everything you will prob break a bolt or lose a nut somewhere, or have to get some little bitch fix thing.
