Re: Your Local GAS PRICE???

I have really given up on caring about the price. I am just pissed about all of the taxes that are in each gallon.

I just passed a station on the corner and it was 2.85, it was like 2.73 a day ago. Yeah that makes sense. :S

Had to love the colbert report tonight:
"When material costs go up, so do profits...it's econ 101" "Buy low sell high...buy high sell higher"

91 is $2.71 / 87 is 2.61 here in sw missouri.

All those claiming ethanol is the answer are wrong. Ethanol works in S. America because they make ethanol from sugar which is more efficient, ie. more ethanol produced per stalk. Making ethanol from Corn is an extremely expensive process.. Not to mention the acres of corn required to produce it. Corn also yields substaintially less ethanol per stalk. One of the reason why we hear so much of it is b/c its not just oil companies lining politicians pockets. Farmers can make a killing if ethanol goes through, and they know it. So they lobby for yellow conservation.

If you guys are really concerned about gas prices, go to Ace hardware, pick up a gallon of Acetone. Add 4oz of Acetone for every 10 gallons of gasoline. You can also buy less expensive octane gasoline and raise the octane yourself by adding ~16oz of Xylene to every 10 gallons of gas. You can also add Torco GP-7 synthetic 2stroke oil, this measurement is a bit more tricky, i think the recommended dosage is like 20ppm. Both Acetone and GP-7 substaintially help in mpg efficiency by up to 35%. When using GP-7 make sure to balance it with Xylene as i've heard it will decrease the octane. These local hardware products are safe, and work by helping the gas burn more completely, thus requiring less fuel for the same amt of power. I use Acetone in my DD Saturn and it really does work. Increased my mpg from avg 29 to 35. Have yet to try it in the integra, as I can't afford the 10 gallons of 91. (having to pay gas for 2 cars sucks)

All my statements are paraphrase from things i've read over the years, and some facts may be hazy. feel free to criticize.

the acetone trick doesn't work, just you driving more consevatively.

But then again I'm getting 48 mpg out of a car that was rated at 38 mpg highway, engine was rated at 102 bhp, now putting out 140-145 bhp.

just gotta burn ALL the fuel........
