Your Grounded!!!

well my car had been running like ---- for a while.... first the A/F gauge stoped working, then my temp gauge would go crazy, and my tach and speedo were a bit off, and would stop when i hit the brake light... and I was getting shitty gas mileage... and i did everything i could to fix ----, New cap, rotor, plugs, fuel filter, fuel system cleaner, O2 Sensor, Pure Antifreeze and the car still kept running like ----... and then saturday the peice of ---- wouldnt start, it would only start when i rolled it in reverse.. so i check the battery terminals and starter, and i see that the ground strap on the tranny was loose as ----.... ----.... i tightened it up and turned the car on and to my ------- amazement everything started working fine... I spent 100 bucks on crap for nothing...

Moral of the story is... check your grounds

you're like my hero. I jacked a bunch of 4 gauge wire from a construction site, I'll have to make me some ground things.

I learned that the hard way too. Don't really expect it to be the grounds.. the one thing that is SO CHEAP to fix... but cool that your car is running good again :D

I got to start my car and oil and water start shooting out of these lines I have routed to where the header used to be, I think I need to put a turbo there or something.

i almost bought a new alternator and it turned out to be the battery terminals. they looked good from the outside but when i took them off they had a build up of some waxy oily stuff. must've been the 88cents walmart grease i've sprayed on them so they won't rust. i sanded that crap off and the lights didn't dim anymore or the electricity would'nt cut off in idle and then come back on. atleast you fixed the problem ghettod and i bet you've never replaced the o2 sensor or the fuel filter.

me too. I still need to do more modfying of my custom extra ghetto manifold. ------- directional flanges pwn me. and I'm having a bitch of a time desoldering my ecu, then I went to radioshack and bought the wrong sized soldering tip, so I'm just going to weld the new tip onto the old tip, it should be extra ghetto.

Re:Your Grounded!!!

man i must have ran over 25 grounding connections in my car. it helps allot in my humble opinion.

lemme count.

each rotor housing is grounded to eash other, the tranny to that.
then i have the lim, the uim, and the tb grounded to the chasis. then i ran a big ass god damn wire from the batery to the chasis. and ran a 10 gauge from the ecu to the proper ground on the chasis. then i grounded the digital ignition coils all to that, and then i grounded the spark plug wires to each of the rotor housing grounds.

must have picked up a couple hp, and it now charges an optima red top fast as ----.

i also soldered my grounds.

Re:Your Grounded!!!

I grounded the ---- out of my car. I ran a 2 gauge from the battery in the trunk to the thermostat housing and I made a circle around the engine bay in 4 gauge from the thermostat----tranny-----chassis-----valve cover----chassis-----alternator-----thermostat. I also ran a 2 gauge from the negative battery terminal to the chassis seperate from the other grounds so the front and back end of the car has a seperate 4 gauge ground.

I think I got it covered. 8)
