Your arp stud torque

Ok so im replacing my head gasket and using arp studs in my d16z6 stock internals (getting the head resurfaced and pressure tested first)
Iv done research and every one has a different opinion
I have a couple of concerns / questions

1 people have said that they had studs come lose
2 do you finger tighten or torque (iv read 10 lbs) the studs in to the head
3 when you torque the nuts on do you follow the recommended 65lbs or torque more for boost applications (people have said 70 75 80 and some actually went over that close to 100)
4 should the torque be checked or tightened after 7-10 heat cycles or a certain mileage
5 im guessing ill need a 13m or 1/2in deep socket

If you have used arp head studs before plz tell me your application and how it turned out thx

Re: Your arp stud torque

1. If they weren't installed correctly
2. I torque them slightly, 5 ft-lbs or so. Basically you want to make sure they're bottomed out.
3. Follow the recommended specs, they already accomodate for boosted/nitrous apps. They give 2 specs: one for using their included moly lube and another (higher) for using motor oil. Can't remember off the top of my head what they are but I'm sure someone else will.
4. Couldn't hurt, might as well.
5. I don't recall needing one, but then again I drink a lot.

you will need a 12 point 1/2 inch deep socket (not sure if its the same for D series) and I'm pretty sure that it said to use straight 30 weight oil and torque to around 80ft/lbs, I lost my sheet though so I dont remember exactly.

You can just go 5ft/lbs over stock and you'll be fine man

Edit: take a look at this, gives you all the tq numbers.

Also, this belongs in the tech section.
