I think 275sh horsepower is gonna be an underestimate for ya if you're running 18 psi. Shortyz always gave the rule of thumb, 20 horsepower per lb of boost. Of course you also have to figure in timing retard (the more retarded, the less power you get) and tuning with the fuel

Anything over 10 psi on a lil rex or hatchie done right will be fast as hell, When you say rule of thumb are you talking about for d series? And 20hp per psi added onto the stock motor hp? You have to mean total right?

Its a rule of thumb (in a perfectly tuned engine) on top of the factory power. 1 lb of boost could add about 20 horsepower in addition to the original horsepower. There are other factors to consider though; traction, transferrence of power from the engine through the differential (lightened flywheel will make a difference here), engine mount stiffness, mileage on the motor, and other modifications (is it intercooled? water injected? 104, 120 octane?)

These are alot of the factors to consider, but yes, Shortyz always gave me that rule of thumb of 20 horsepower per lb of boost

Yea in my experience ive always noticed numbers of 10 - 15... Usually closer to 10, sure i believe 20 is possible, but with a lot of tuning and $. Thats not the case with most of us boosted her so i think the rule of thumb in this forum should be 10 an 15 if you wanna get someone excited...
