second pic is the driver's side tow hook mount. the whole bottom two bolts have broken away from the weld and are loose inside the frame. i'm re-thinking building another traction bar using the stock crossmember mount locations as the only mounting points. the tow hook locations aren't meant to take a beating, only to pull the load of the car on occasion. glad i decided to pull my motor this winter!

If you're laying down that sort of power and launching that hard in an ED chassis, take a look at the OEM spot welds holding the passenger's side trans bracket to the frame rail. It should be mostly torn free by now... be a good egg and go stitch that up with the welder.

I think you're making a big deal out of nothing, I've seen seat mounting points that look like that. These are econoboxes, guys... while Honduh took the view that overengineering their drivetrains made them 300000 miles reliable, they are laid into a lightweight throw away shell for top notch fuel economy. Nothing about these cars was intended to hold any real power, even if the engines do take it so well.
