isnt bamboo soft-ish tho? ive always wanted wood flooring, and since this thread came up im actually looking into it.

bamboo is about 2x as hard as oak. it's the next best thing to pouring a concrete slab.

Snap together laminate is the SSAC of the floor covering world. Yes there area few people that have had great success with it, but the vast majority have their crap crack.

i used to lay laminate with my uncle, we did mostly bruce and pergo, in that order. bruce is amazing flooring, but pergo makes better underlayment and anti-squeak and stuff.

pergo has groove issues. bruce has a better finish in regards to durability, but not exactly the best warranty. who needs warranty, ---- never used to come with it when everything was made in us&a, now look at the world. ---- china

all laminate is amazing. you're amazed that you put the whole floor in in a matter of hours. then you're amazed by how good it looks. then you're amazed that such a loud groan can come from an amazingly tiny joint.

lastly, after you wake up your entire family just by walking to the kitchen to get a midnight beer, you're finally amazed by how stupid you realized you were by not buying quality ---- to begin with.

i laid the kitchen + dining room + living room with bruce in the latter two, and pergo in the kitchen. the bruce is perfect, squeak free, no fitment issues, etc.

on the other hand, the pergo is ------- squeaky, has high spots on the edges, and seems to shift.

the bruce was amazing. it fit tighter than pergo, but it's amazing. it's had ---- dropped all over it, and it hasn't chipped or scratched or anything
