so I broke my foot in my own time. I don't have medical insurance and since i drive for a living i cant work for like 3 months. Does anyone know of any types of grants or federal insurance that will comphensate me for my lost wages? If not its gonna suck ***. I have heard from some other folks there is some sort of ways to get it covered. couldn't find ---- on google for washington state. I had the same break on my other foot and had to have surgery so i am just throwin this out there. any help is much appreciated.

Look a couple pages back I started a thread similar to this. The only way you're really gonna get lost wages is if you hurt yourself at work or if your injury is somebody else's fault. Your company's insurance or the person at fault's insurance will pay lost wages. The only thing health insurance will do for you is cover medical bills but they ask a lot of really thorough questions before you can apply for it. As far as wages go you should go see the unemployment office or public aid office.

if its a bad break they have to treat you if you go to the emergency room even if you cant pay them. but thats short term only so i dont know if that would work. you could try a stiff air cast and maybe be able to get away with it.

Its not an emergency enough to have emergency room surgery

I had the xray done at a local walk in clinic

If I wait until like the end of this month to schedule with my surgeon maybe I can pick private medical insurance wait a little bit and then go get xrays with my surgeon to prove its broken to my "new" insurance that something happened.

If the X-ray is already done you're kind of fucked because a health insurance company will ask you if you had anything like that in your medical history and they're gonna look anyways if you suddenly sign up for insurance and come up with a broken foot.

Apparently there is such a thing as short term health insurance but I don't know if it would be any help to you. The best thing for you to do right now would be to apply for a health insurance policy and tell them up front whats wrong with you. You can still get coverage but your policy will probably cost more.

---- its worth a try. go get insurance then wait a week or so and then go stomp down on a brick really hard to clean up the break then go to the er and tell them its broke. if they ask tell them you are just accident prone. and if they find out it was already broke tell them you didnt know. it must not have been a bad break, maybe you thought it was a sprain.

exactly^^^ the break i have feels like a sprain, but it is definately broken
