Took my old engine apart today and snapped a few pictures of my clutch

As you can see, the contact patches are pretty much worn down to the grooves. This is only about....13-15k miles. Most of those miles were highway miles too. The clutch had about 7 track launches(only a few were dropped clutches, the rest were feathered). I didn't ever launch hard on the streets, nothing excessively anyways. It was not used for 90% of 2007 either

I did however, not properly break it in. I took it all the way to redline through 1-2 as soon as the car was running. I didn't dump the clutch tho. Then I drove on the highway for about 500 miles right after. My previous clutch(which I will assume was OEM or OEM replacement) looked a lot better than this and I didn't replace it until the swap.(~25k with the car before I swapped clutches)

An unproperly broken in clutch doesn't lead to extreme shortened life. It leads to stupid chatter and uneven wear.

I measured all the grooves heights and they were all just about the same.

It has less holding capacity due to lack of surface area.
