My dad and I have ran a HVAC (this is air conditioning) business since I was 14.(now 24) There will always be these type of customers no matter how hard you try to please them they want to complain. One time this lady was extremely pissed because I would not come to her house first because she had a black dog and it was going to overheat. This is a part of business and this will always happen no matter how hard you try. The average person has no clue just how crazy the general public can be sometimes. My dad would always bend over backwards and get taken advantage of (IMO) when ever someone would throw a temper fit and complain about something. What I had to tell him is that all you need to do is do what you think is fair. Explain your position and take theirs into consideration and then go with your gut. You have to bend over backwards sometimes, just do not bend so far that they can screw you in the ***.
The book "The millionaire next door" profiles several self made 1st generation millionaires. It studies them and finds 30 something things that all these millionaires had in common. The number 1 correlation between these millionaires was integrity.
P.S. I think your resolution to this was taking a little advantage of you, but you have to do that sometimes as a business. I applaud you.

People are lucky to have shops like Chris' around. He knows what he is doing,honest and hard working. Unlike most places that re none of these and will just take your money and send you a box of sorry were out of business.
The general public from running my business has 5 percent that are lost/confused/angry/slow and sometimes you get combos. Your going to deal with dip wades like this all day. hence why postal employee's loss it. Listen to how many *** holes you here in line about having to wait 20 minutes.
