100 to mod an xbox??... sorry to rip on you man, but thats ----, if you want one modded go to www.xbox-scene.com/forum ... lots of people there aren't all out to make money, to give you an idea, before i knew how to do it i sent mine out to a guy and he charged like 25 bucks for install which included, chip install/hard drive set up/larger fan and install/some l.e.d's... and before you buy a hd, check out some of these sites... www.slickdeals.net www.passwird.com www.fatwallet.com you can usually find 200 gigs for like 50 after rebates... to give you an estimate of how many games you can back up... most games range from 2.5-5 gigs... although there are smaller and larger games as well... for a modded xbox to be reliable, your gonna want to have it soldered in, this is especially important if you move your xbox a lot, you can get chips for as cheap as 20 bucks, and as expensive as 50-60... currently some popular chips are the xenium ice, xecuter 3, and i believe the new version of smartxx... in reality, if you just want to be able to back up games and play them, you can only play one at a time, so sometimes you can find a 40 gig hard drive dirt cheap (my school sold their old ones for like 10 bucks, but they are all out now) and back up a few games.... also if you buy a hard drive and aware of all the things with live, (it is believed that the hard drive you use to first get on live is logged and live checks to see if this hard drive is in use every time, as well as to check for modded bios bla bla bla... basically don't use live unless you know a lot of ----) you are going to have to find one that can be locked, use this page http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/ ... if you don't have an xbox, you can get them for like 100 at eb games and such places, figure 100 - xbox, 25 - chip, 25-100 install(don't be an idiot and pay the latter), 50 - hd.. really check out www.xbox-scene.com there is lots of useful information, also don't worry about no live... there is a thing called xlink kai... it uses a computer with two network connections, one to the internet and one to the xbox, some tunneling software, and when everything works right you can use games with system link such as halo, halo2, unreal to play against people from anywhere on the net <-- much better than live cause its free and you can use modded xboxs as well as 'stock' xboxs

dougmod offers FREE mod chip installs for versions 1.0-1.5 for the 1.6 he charges 10.. this guy is well known, he isn't gonna rip you off, also note he charges 15 for a hard drive install... so all in all you pay at most 25 for it to be modded... not bad at all...

If you dont think 200+ gigs of information is worth it then do it yourself doesn't bother me at all. It's only taken me 3 years to grow my collection to what it is curently.
My offer wasnt for people that want to mod an xbox its for people that dont want to risk ruining there box nor spend the time to find 15000 Roms + emulators, + all the software like DVD2XOX, Xbox Media Center, your choice of Desktops (unleashX, avalaunch, EvoX) 40+ games Etc...
Plus if anyone ever askes for info because they are looking to do it themselves I always offer to assist with any questions I can answer.

it took me about a week to fill my 250 gig with games and movies, it goes fast, games can be rented, downloaded, whatever you want, roms can be downloaded... whatever, is anyone is that stupid to pay that much nothing is gonna change their mind after what i just posted
