From the purist comic book reader view: they ruined the origin of the Phoenix, and then they portrayed the Phoenix as riddled with doubt and unable to act. How... pathetic. omething the Phoenix, or Dark Phoenix, never was.
From the casual moviegoer view: Okay, you played this bitch up as badass and tempermental, why does she just sit there with her thumb up her *** instead of sucking some ------s up 24/7? Smash things. Smash everthing!

As a movie watcher it was definately good entertainment, but as an ol-school comic reader there were parts that sucked ***. Over all, I liked it, but it could've been better.
One of the big screw ups that my friend was a little pissed over was the dumbass "Juggernaut smacking into the wall" thing. So what if the kid neutralized mutant powers...Juggernaut's NOT a mutant! Oh well, i guess you can't expect the movie makers to know everything the fans know...but that was pretty ------' stupid (or a really bad "re-write" of lore). I think they made Marrow into kind of a -----. JD's damn straight about them whoring out Pheonix. Storm was too talky and insecure, rather than the wise and confident goddess (literally) she's always been in the books (and even the first movie or 2). Etc. Etc. Etc.
There were some highlights, too though. Beast was freakin' great! Juggernaut was cool. Kitty kicked some *** (in classic Kitty style). Wolverine was, well Wolverine. Magneto was perfect as usual too. There were some pretty sweet scenes and some memorable lines. Like I said, definately entertaining.
(P.S. Who else here thinks Wolvy should've tapped that *** on the exam table?) THAT would've have been well worth the admission price!

I saw it last night. I loved it, but it pissed me off. I used to watch teh cartoon all teh time, and this of course did not follow it at all. It really could have stood to be an hour longer, so it could get more into the story, since they say this is the final eppisode in teh triology. I reallly dont see how they could make a 4th one since all teh important people are now dead And how was teh ending thing remotely about Xavier? That was totally about magneto and mystique etc.

I missed the thing after the credits, what was it exactly?
I saw the movie last night too, though. I actually liked it pretty well. I didn't see either of the first two and I only played the X-Men game on Sega...maybe watched the cartoon once or twice. Never picked up a comic book in my life.
That said, I thought it was a pretty good movie, Magneto's character kicked ***. It was kind of ironic that I saw the DaVinci Code the night before then went and saw X3....had the same main character dude that played Magneto in both as a major character. That guy is a badass actor.
The whole Phoenix character was new to me...so I didn't give a ---- about that but IMO she did kind of ---- up the movie by killing Charles. What was the purpose in killing Charles? I didn't see any purpose in killing any of the main characters. The Phoenix character, even though I don't know the story behind it, was probably the only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth about the movie...
Other than the human soldiers (Marines?) just standing there staring at the mutants running at them while the X-Men guys fight them off. They were literally just standing there for the entire scene.
