Default Wut you guys think??!!

Ok, my bros doggin the ---- outta me to do turbo-im stuck with n/a on my next build up cuz of the parts already purchased-what should i do-stay cuz im too deep or change to turbo
this is what i got
89 D16A1
n/a grind cams(soon to be crespo)
77mm high comp pistons
y8 edelbrock intake to squeeze on
...well ---- basically everything for parts wise for a motor
no machine work yet, and no ecu specialties though
and combine the d16a1 in my 88 acura with it to run.
now hhmmmm seems like a dumb ?? but im a marine in japan now what do you expect, i miss my car, it all the wy home......
plus ive spent too much as is
if someone would buy my n/a parts then im sold

keep all that ---- and turbo it! ohh and since you havent done any machine work, loose the high compression pistons, and get some suziki vitara pistons. (search "vitara pistons") and that will give you all the info you need. then go from there!

With those bolt on's your car might be 1/2 second faster than it was before. Also the "y8 edelbrock intake" will not fit on a d16a1, its not even close to lining up on the intake ports, The a1 is alot wider and the ports are bigger. There are no aftermarket intake manifolds availble for the DOHC ZC and D16a1. 77mm pistons? are these forged pistons? what compression? Not to many people even offer pistons for the the d16a1, where did you get them through? are you sure they are for the a1 and not the a6? Your cams will work fine for Forced induction, especially if they are just regrinds, you can only get so wild with a regrind. I had regrinds on my ZC (basically the same thing) and my grind was the most agressive you could do, and it worked great for Turbo. I'd take the pistons back or return them for some lower compresson ones, get a set of eagle or scat rods and rebuild the engine. A decent little hmt setup on that a1 would move that heavy *** integra way better than it would ever move Normal asperated.

-well it is tru those parts listed wont do too much ---- for, but i was sayin that i have all upgraded parts for me to build that motor just need to do it, but i cant cause im in japan. i was jus wondering if i should go ahead and do the turbo thing
-oh the pistons are from an a6, i was going to bore the a1
-the ports do match up on the head, holes need to be drill for fit and of course the port job(fits bigger throttle body and longer runners)(water neck to be removed from intake and directly bolted to head seperate from intake)
-further more they do make intakes for the a1 but they are like $500+ jus for it-i got the edelbrock "performer X" for 275 will all the fittings(if anyone else would like it....)

No, they dont make any aftermarket intake manifolds for the ZC or D16a1. D16y8 ports are way smaller than a1's, I suppose you could ------ that manifold on if you wanted, but its definatly going to be hacked. Also, you didnt answer my question. What compression pistons did you get? Because you do know that ZC's and A1's have a 44cc head it has the largest combustion chamber out of any of the d-series. Which is why D16a1's come with factory domed pistons.

Example, if you put stock A1 pistons in a a6 block you will get a 11.3 compression ratio. And if you put stock a6 pistons in a zc/a1 block you will get a 7.8 c/r. What does this mean? The 11.1 c/r pistons you just thought were for NA are really 9.9c/r when you put them in your a1. Its just because the a1/zc head has a larger combustion area.

I think I know more about ZC/A1's than I do know more about any other engine, I spent more time doing research on these than anything. I had a fully built ZC at one time and it was difficult to find parts like others. Here is a custom intake manifold for my zc

yes abaz i know they dont make the aftermarket intakes anymore, but they did through nopi if i remember or some ----...oh well....but the compression of the pistons are not like the low vitara ones you were talkin about in another post, they are like around 11.5 to 12 on the a6 if not more, i do not remember-im forgetfull and also i do know that the zc/d16 has the highest cc head which makes it harder to get high comp out of those guys. and last but not least i do understand you have fully built a zc and all but not to mention.....how many.......and how long did they last......thanks
and to top that its obvious that on a turbo sight all would choose turbo i wanted to know-1 if anyone wanted some parts-2-what else would i need

You are starting off on the wrong foot here, bud. If you want to know more about what you need to turbo your car, do a little research on here. The "search" button is your friend, give your friend a little clickity-click. Or, just read the FAQ in the FI forum. Then come back and talk to Jeff like you know what you are talking about. Furthermore, Jeff has also provided a classifieds forum for you to sell your unwanted items in. I'd suggest starting there as well.
