i know it's a 4-speed and im not tryin to get rich off it....but damn ill lose $ by the time i use gas, get somthin to box it up and then go to ship it, $50 for a tranny isnt bad (if you need to have you car running) the junkyards down here want over $100 and you still have to pull it from the car

Hell I gave away like a couple DX and VX/CX tranny's just cause they were taking up space for free. Worked fine. Just toss it in box and put cardboard pieces just smaller then the sides to reinforce it so it's less likely to punch through. Help the dude out Christ. Gas? what the hell do you live in the boonies or something? You can even schuedule UPS or Fedex to come to your house to pick it up so you won't have to do anything besides box it up and put it on the porch for them to get it.

if he was local i probly wood give it to him (my car parts take up alot of space also) and i dont live in the boonies...i just live in the city w/the highest gas prices in the u.s. (and i have to rock premium) gas is $3.43 for regular (premium is over $3.60) my car aint tuned so i get about 200 miles to the tank if im lucky

Would this also somehow cause me to feel something pummeling into my shifter?

i just want it to be one problem, fairly easy fix I sippose if I can find a replacement

easy fix, find another tranny!

just gauging if anything else needs to be swapped bone, the shifter feeling would just be something fucked in the trans or is something else affected by this?

What's under the shifter? Two bars, that's it. Any problems with vibrations or anything would come from the tranny. The only thing you can have is messed up bushings or a missing washer or something in the shifter itself, but that would only make it feel like it's still in neutral, like you can make the shift stick around, even if it is in gear.

Unless your exhaust is hitting the shift linkage the problem is in the transmission.

check to see if you have any tranny oil left in it.if the axle was out a bit it is a good possibility you lost oil. and the grinding noise i have had a spring pop out of my clutch disc and was making all kind of noise like you said.
