I know this is an odd topic, but i thought i'd share... WTF i am only 23 and i am balding... Does anyone else have this problem? I just have this bald spot on the left side closer to the top of my head that i had developed over last two months and it is about the size of a quarter... WFT??? i am pisst.. does anyone else have a similar problem?

Well...It won't look good at first, but once you get a tan on your head...it will be ok.

If you had big ears I wouldn't recommend it though.

Well my hairline is recceding... along the edges... in a couple of years my forehead will be extended to the top of my head.... dude dont trip out... Im 22 and my hairs thining out,,, I have patches of grey hair.... so i just buzzed it all off like 5 mins ago..... Im not worried... its gonna fall off anyways... Good thing I get to wear a nice little cap in the O.R.

I went to school with a girl that had this exact same prob.
Not sure what it was, but don't think it was permanent.
I'd ask a doctor wtf.

Trust me...Don't worry about it at all if you're just losing your hair.

You might want to see a doctor though just to be sure that it's not something more serious.

...but if it's not, don't stress or you might just speed it up. hehe

Don't even worry. I work with a 22 yr. old guy that is completely bald on the top of his head, but the sides and back are normal. He recently went to one of my friends mom which is a hair transplanter. Basically it's like a patch of 6" human hair glued to the top of your head. They dye it to match and cut it in proportion to the sides/back. He has to go like twice a month to get it inspected to make sure everything is still holding good and to get the sides/back trimmed back down to size.
Yes, at first we ragged all over him, but after a while you forget it's even there. It's not like one of those wigs that you can tell every time you look at him. At this point, making a joke about it is just a sign of being an -------. It's non joke worthy anymore. ;)

dude, get medical insurance! what happens if you break your leg, or get pneumonia, or strep throat or anything, you'll pretty much be fucked! it's not much for young people, and it's well worth it. i had a knee surgery when i was 18 and i'm 40k dollars in debt b/c of it, and i'm only 22 :P ha, i sound like an old person telling you young punks to wisen up! but yeah, cut your hair short and it will blend better......... chicks dig short hair, oh i think you have lice too :P

Damn this is a serious matter. This is something that you will be self concious about the rest of your life. So I have a few suggestions to help you get over the fact your'e losing your hair

1. Go to a Hardwarestore preferably Home Depot since i own some stock of theirs

2. Find some rope that closely resembles the color of your hair

3. Go outside and find the closest tree or if you live in arizona a cactus will do.

4. Stand on a chair and tie one end around the tree and the other around your neck

5. Jump of the chair, dont fall, because you want to make sure you get the job done right because without medical insurance a broken neck costs a fortune

Now you will never have to worry about your balding head again. Good luck ;)

I started loosing hair when I was about 20-21, I knew it was coming, kinda sucks.. but I've had a shaved head for about a year now, and it's very low maintnence :P

its easy mang.. me and my friend used to do it all the time after school at a store called "Best" (they closed a year later). We were in 8th grade riding those kiddie tricycles and their floor was slick as ----, we'd ride them real fast down the aisle then do like 90+ degree turn at the end of the aisles and drift(I didn't know what drifting was back then). fun stuff. I think i can still do it, I'm 21 now but I havent gained too much weight.

I've got you all beat. My hair starting receding when I was 16, I'm almost 21 now and have been sporting the shaved/buzzed look for 2 1/2 years. Super low maintanence, as long as you don't shave every day, I just shave it and let it go for 10 days or so, after that you can tell that even though I have hair at the top of my head, it's super thin, and after about 2 weeks, I basically look like I'm bald with thin fuzz on the top of my head, looks like absolute ass.

GOOD NEWS!! Well kinda, I did find one advantage to going bald. I'm at the U of MN, and I participated in a hairloss reasearch study. They took biopsies of my bald spots (9 in total) and skin grafted my scalp onto bald mice to test new hair growth drugs. Not only am I helping our cause, but they paid me $225 to do it. It was sweet.

Good luck with that ----, I say just buzz it short, it'll look better than trying to cover it up.

Im not a doc, but I think that is either a fungal infection of your scalp or some autoimmune disorder which can result in a diagnosis called "alopecia areata". It can cause you to lose chunks of hair like that, but then it can resolve and then come back again in a different spot. If I were you i'd figure out how to see a dermatologist. <-- They are the ones you want to see not the regular family practice doc.

I dont want to alarm you but its a good idea to get it checked out because if its automimmune you might need to take the proper precautions because alopecia areata is associated with other autoimmune diseases such as hashimoto's thyroiditis, vitiligo, and myasthenia gravis, but then again it could just be some benign thing where you just happened to have a patch of hair that decided to fall off (which doesnt usually happen).

PM me if you need some more info. I'll tell you what i know.

wash your hair with horse shampoo ---- and take those huge ass vitamins and youll be fine as longs as its not hereditary.....my mom used to be a hair dresser-trust me...ill find out exactly what kind of vitamins

Yeah dude that doesn't look healthy. your hair thins until there none left. That looks like something else. Losing my hair is one of my biggest fears. I'm 21 now, if I can make it to 30 than I won't care.

Stealthmode: Doesn't that hair actually grow? I can't see how it could look natural? Whenever I think of hair transplants I can't get the images from Duce Bigalo out of my head.

I also heard that baldness comes from your mother's father. I hope this is true becuase my dad is as bald as they get

Yeah i have some gray hairs also... wtf im 20. Idk this guy i work with is bald on top so he shaves his head but he has a beard... looks kinda cool. BTW his wife is hot... some chix like that kinda stuff. My friend has been losing hair since he was 19

Yeah my dad was balding since he was a senior in high school but I havent lost any hair. My Moms dad has a full head of hair still and he is like 70 or 80. Yay me. I noticed that I would loose hair when I would wear a ball cap but it quit falling out after I stopped wearing one. Another thing quit using guys shampoo. Go get panteen pro-v or something with vitamin-e. Its good for the skin. thats what I use. I thought that I had dandruff problems when I was in high school but it turned out that my shampoo was to blame. And use a condisiner or however you spell it. good luck growing you hair back!

remember not to use conditioner too often. and make sure u COMPLETELY wash it off coz it wuold clog the little holes and hair will not grow.
