wtf - brakes

well i got new rotors/pads and now on the left front it makes like a rubbing noise every other second when i'm on my brakes slowing down, has this happened to anybody?

i had the same problem, when i took of my old rotor i had to beat it off with a hammer and tweaked the dust shield
just reach behind your tire and feell to see if its rubbing

yeah that dust shield was annoying when i did my brakes. i would definatly check that though because it bends so easily

what he said ^^^^^
it`s prob.ly the dust shield that`s touching the rotor.

could also be something simple holding the brakes slightly out of alignement, clean the hub off real well, and check the rotor to see if it's warped... it can happen.

Re: wtf - brakes

as far as the dust shield goes, it only makes the noise when i'm going like under 15, not full brake, and its not like a constant noise.... it reminds me of a nail in a tire, it only makes the noise when the nail hits the road... that is just like this it only makes the noise like every other second or so, i'm not sure what it is, i don't have any time to work on the car yet, on friday i'll figure this out... just checking for some input

am i right thinking i can count out the dust shield, or is this just like you guys have encountered?

Re: wtf - brakes

there was probly dirt in the between the rotor and hub, you've got the rotor on alittle crooked.

Re: wtf - brakes

I forgot a washer once when putting on calipers. This caused the caliper to mount crooked and rub the rotor for a bit every revolution. Quite easy to fix the problem when I was wondering where that extra washer was from.....
