So why did they bump displacement to 2.5 liters when it still makes around the same horse as the ej20 in my '04 wrx? :1 I can understand the additional torque, anybody that's driven a ej20'd wrx knows they're gutless on the bottom, but at least bump the hp output to respectable ej25 standards. :P

5-door hatches? WTF seriously they are wagons. A 3-door hatch would be blinging.

Yeah, I thought the first ones were a little fugly, then the next were better, and it's going down hill. Too bad honda and toyota are a buncha pussies that won't release a decent looking, small, turbo awd vehicle. They're too concerned with emissions and economy Then again, looking at the recent hondas, it probably wouldn't look too much better.

it's just a matter of marketting and probably cheaper parts because the regular impreza was already a 2.5 and the Sti was a 2.5, they rounded up the models to all be 2.5. That way they can reuse more parts and save some money.

As far as the numbers go, they can't give it much more power or it will get into the Sti territory and people won't buy the Sti if they can have almost the same performance from the WRX, but you know that with a few mods it will be as quick.

I agree the stock turbo/engine combo sucks at low end torque. I have a VF-22 now, it's a lot better.
