wrx crash

Re: wrx crash
I cannot agree nor disagree with you jd, reason being we do have some really quick cars down here like gt35r rb26 silvias and a host of others, we have a twin engine evo and a host of other well built cars . I agree we may not have too many dyno queens but we do have some quick cars. 95% of the car enthusiats down here cannot afford to build a 350whp ed, those who can are not gonna give a honda civic a second look. Another thing is that we dont have too many hmt type guys down here. Everyone wants name brand parts like greddy hks or some other big name company. No one wants to use a factory dsm or saab bov, its all hks ssq or greddy type s down here. No radiator hose for piping either. I actually got laughed at when i told some guys on a local forum that i can piece a $6-700 usd turbo kit for a crx i was thinking of buying. Every thing we buy down here cost 3 times as much as it would in the states. A used Autometer boost guage costs like $250 ecd, thats roughly 100 usd just to give you an idea. we are simply doing the best with the little we got . Usually its a 4age 20v swapped corolla or some other cheap set up. A 350whp civic would run like low 13s give or take right ? I doubt that will be fast enough to take crown as the "island silencer"

Re: wrx crash
You made my point. Not to poke at you, you don't have ready access to the tools us guys in the states do, but if you do things the HMT way you're going to hurt a lot of high-dollar feelings on your island. Learn the ropes and if you have a little talent your second or third build will be an island silencer; your competition is a bunch of cakeboys who buy parts out of magazines based on how many cool points their wallets can afford.
Only thing a big power Honduh would have to look out for is a half assed set up live axle, which I doubt you have, and curves. Three stage MBC, like stickied in the Forced Induction Forum hint hint, should knock power down enough you can handle a corner or three...

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I lol'd hard whilst reading your reply. The reason it was so funny is because its true. We dont even have a dynometer of any sort, most of our tuning involves a long strip of road and a couple guys ------- with a afc. I know i am gonna sound like a noob when i say this but, believe me when i say i plan on embarrassing alot of people when my plans materialize. Im currently honda searching right now. You are gonna laugh when you hear this but its ------- impossible to find a cheap eg or ef down here. I found a beat up to ---- crx recently but the owner refused to sell. I have a thread about it in the forums linked in my sig. Its in the general discussion if anyone is interested. Next week i will be trying to convince a local guy to sell me his ef hatch for $6-7k ecd ($2400 usd) i was thinking a hmt style, 14b , hf manifold, dsm smic, turbo edit tuned ef hatch will be enough to embarrass the masses.
