It took me a while to write this all up, i hope u guys enjoy it.





Pakistan being a developing country doesn’t tend to involve most of its teenagers in passion for automobiles. Most teenagers waste their lives in pool clubs and smoking weed.

But where there is will there is a way. Driving fast might be 5 minutes of fun to some people, but to others it’s a passion.

The street racing scene in Pakistan started roughly 5 years ago, when people with lots of free time and gas gathered on empty roads and tried to see whos car was the fastest. But at that time there was lack of awareness of modifying vehicles. But as time went by, people felt the need to go faster. That had to happen. And with that need, racers started importing performance parts. Initially parts included air intakes, performance plugs, and low resistance ignition wires, to give a slight edge over other stock cars, but with cars with bulkier engines entering the competition, modders felt the need to do more.

Before anyone knew it, enthusiasts were importing ready made turbo kits, and installing them in their own back yards(cuz for most mechanics this was their first time installing turbos on Stock cars like civics). Most turbo kits were being installed in civics with d15 non- vtec engines. Which as most of you must know, aren’t very satisfying when it comes to performance. So within another few months, or a year or so, engines were being imported. The most popular swaps in civics being the b16a, and the b18c.

Now we had some fast cars in our hands. But was this enough for the modders and tuners?. Hell NO! Like all car enthusiasts u keep going till u cant do anymore (but there is always something more)

Recently, people who have tired themselves of 4 door civics, are stepping up the ante and have started importing even faster and reliable cars. A few examples being, lancer evo(5-, sabaru impreza STi, Nissan 350z, celicas, mr2’s, skylines, a couple of Ferraris, a hemi, and some of the Mechanical engineers have started putting together their own westfields .

And when even those didn’t satisfy the tastes, cars like twin turbo 350z’s started appearing. This was getting big now.

We have arrived into current times now.

The three main cities involved in street racing in Pakistan are, Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore.

In Islamabad, the pride of street racers lies in cars like 450bhp b16driven civics. Another 400hp b16 civic. Numerous all motor b16’s. a couple of n/a b18s, and then some pretty crazy swaps like an h23 in a 96 civic, and another h22 in a dihatsu charade!!!!

Lahore boasts of b20turbos running upto 24 psi. other daily civics like a b16 with a dualball bearing turbo at 22psi. this is getting crazy now.

Recently, some fanatics have started taking it to the limits. A guy in Karachi imported both an f40 and an f50. lucky rich son of a bitch. Another couple of people imported 350z’s and turboed them upto 16psi. there are supras running 16psi in Karachi as well. There is a Mitsubishi fto with an evolution engine running 20psi. there are imprezas with 20+psi of boost.

Now to come to one of the worst fears of every street racer, and also what makes street racing as much fun as it is. THE COPS. The cops really havnt caught up with how fast we have worked our way up. They have realized that their stock d16 driven civics, and 250cc touring bikes cant catch the kind of cars we race in, so in their attempts to catch up, they’ve purchased cars with bigger engines. Like Toyota Prados, and Land cruisers. LIKE THAT WILL WORK. And in Pakistan, we have our own way of bribing our way out of cop situations . A couple hundred big ones put a smile on their faces and pretend nothing happened. Its much much easier to do this than in other countries.

Well that’s about it. This is just what we have achieved in 4-5 years. And believe me this isn’t where it ends.

Oh yeh, there are a few projects going on which are:
1) A b18 bored to 2litres, turbo at 24psi
2) A H22 fully built engine running 22psi
Both of those engines are being built in the US and will be turboed here. We would have done it all here but we don’t have the machinery YET…evidence of those projects will be up soon.

The only downside is we don’t have a Dyno in Paksistan Yet.

Everyone who reads this shares the same thrill for speed as we (HMT) do. I haven’t told many of my friends about HMT yet but as soon as I do the forums will be flooded with questions.

Here is a site dedicated to the racers and tuners of Pakistan, there aren’t to many websites out there with Pakistani racing and this is might be the ONLY one .

am i? or are we at war to stop street racing in pakistan? why do i see it on the news every few days. why was there a video here on hmt a few days ago talkin about a car bombing? so am i really "that" ignorant or was it a logic question? i dont even understand suicide bombing, with technology these days you could do wireless transmitters n blow ---- up with the bush of a button, not comitting suicide.

these cars are all ugly anyway. you call that racing? i call it ricing...
