well.. for the first time i tried that wrinkle paint.. and i made to thick of a coat so the wrinkle is a little to much to look like type r.. but here is my first try.

what kind of base did u have down before that paint ----? is that the rough surface paint? is it the same stuff i saw while waiting in line at O'rileys called brake caliper paint?

oh and for the whole thing for the guy mowing the lawn, go check out the thread called spencer's lawn service or some ---- in general.

its called wrinkle paint, the can is in my garage, but someone else posted it a month back or so, and i bought it, the thicker you lay on the coats the more it wrinkles, the surface i painted on is decently smooth. I did the paint a bit thick so it had to much wrinkle, but it looks VERY similar to the type r cover just the wrinkle is a bit thick.. i'm going to try agian on another cover.

so what about primer and ----? do you just lay the ---- down? what is it's melt point? what other applications do u think it would work out on?

I just did my g/f d series valve cover. Looks good. Ill take some pics and post them.

Hey Bill I have some of that paint left. It should be enough to do you valve cover. I put way too much paint on my g/f's valve cover. Im sure you can have the rest...ask Josh, I used the leftovers from him. ;D

did u use aircraft striiper to strip the valve cover first??? did u have to lay down a base coat?? were there any other preperation needed????

also, what was your technique for masking of the lettering ... looks real clean and id like to give it a try!
